Schedule Your Next Routine Maintenance at Bill Currie Ford

We know that electric vehicles are still something that many of us are getting used to, which is why it's so vital that you ask questions! There is a lot for you to consider when owning any vehicle, and the kind of maintenance your ride needs is essential. Our goal at Bill Currie Ford is to be the top Ford EV service center in the Clearwater and Tampa areas. When you trust our service technicians, we know that you will never regret it. The point that we want to make right now is that we'll be able to answer your top questions, and make sure that you are always kept in the know when you work with us. To find out more about maintenance for Ford EV models, all you have to do is keep reading below, and we'll take care of the rest. You're in good hands with Bill Currie Ford.

1. How often should I get my tires rotated with a Ford EV?

Every vehicle is built a little differently, and you must factor in EV-specific care when you are scheduling all of your service appointments. Something we want to remind you about is how important routine tire rotations are for your electric vehicle. We highly recommend getting a tire rotation done about every 10,000 miles or around once a year, depending on your driving habits. These routine rotations will help to make sure that the treads of your tires are wearing evenly, allowing you to keep your tires for longer!

2. Will I need to worry about my brakes as much with an EV?

The brakes on your Ford are something that you are going to want to always consider where maintenance is concerned. However, thanks to the power of regenerative braking, you'll be experiencing less wear and tear on your friction brakes, which means you will not need to have the brake pads replaced as often as you would otherwise. This doesn't mean that you should be pressing down on your brakes less, as we always recommend some occasional braking to keep the brakes in the best working order possible.

3. Keep up with checking your 12V battery!

The battery in your Ford EV is more important than ever before, which is why we want to make sure it maintains working order to the highest standard. The 12-volt battery in your EV helps to power multiple internal systems and is also incredibly helpful when it comes to updating software. Our technicians here at Bill Currie Ford can help with things like checking the connections for corrosion, monitoring the charge levels, and letting you know when it's time for the battery to be replaced with something new.

4. How do I keep my EV healthy?

The battery that is responsible for running your EV has to be kept as healthy as possible so you can stay on the road for as long as possible. How will you be able to maintain a healthy battery? We highly recommend that whenever your car isn't in use that you keep a minimum 50% charge. Beyond that, you should be moving your vehicle at least once every 15 days, as that helps in preventing corrosion and maintaining the lubrication in the system as a whole. The more you spend caring for your Ford EV, the better you can feel knowing that it will be able to last you for years to come in the future.

5. What other benefits come with owning a Ford EV?

When you buy a Ford EV, you'll get a long list of benefits that can help you maintain your ride so it lasts longer. We highly recommend finding out more about Ford Roadside Assistance, the BlueOval Charge Network, the FordPass App, the 8-year/100,000-mile high-voltage limited battery warranty, available Ford Protect options, and expert service that you will never find anywhere else. Remember, we are always just a phone call away, and we can't wait to help you out!
